Our vines are rooted in the soils of Weiden am See near Lake Neusiedl. We like the calcareous slopes and even more so the stony, barren sites, which produce fine, fragile, mineral wines. We cultivate our vineyards according to biodynamic Demeter guidelines. Nothing but pure grapes are used in our natural wines. This makes them exciting, expressive, and lively, giving them character and allowing them to tell stories: about our roots in tradition, our passion for nature, and our deep conviction that winemaking is above all a matter of feeling.[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row content_placement=”middle” css=”.vc_custom_1762935007023{background-color: #CCC2B7 !important;}”][vc_column width=”1\/2″ el_class=”text-col order-2″][vc_column_text css=””]<\/p>\n

Every vineyard has its own talent and purpose. By learning to understand the character of each vineyard, we bring the system into balance. This takes time and experience. Once both are in place, the wine-making process takes its natural course.<\/p>\n

For us, low intervention means taking ourselves out of the cellar. If we harvest at the right time, most of our work is already done. We cannot improve anything, only preserve the naturalness and quality of the vineyards. Since we have been applying this thinking to winemaking, change has been our constant companion. We are fourth-generation winemakers, but despite all our experience, we remain lifelong learners. Just as nature is ever-changing, so too are our skills and knowledge. Movement is everywhere. Even if we hadn’t become winemakers, life would still have led us to and into nature: Thomas, a visionary of organic viticulture, and Claudia, who has mastered the balancing act between tradition and innovation.
